Craniosacral Manual Therapy (CST)

Children, families & adults
Wait — what is CST, in plain English?

Picture the lightest possible touch — about the weight of a nickel — placed gently on your head, neck, lower back, or other tense spots, while you lie fully clothed in a quiet, dim room. The practitioner isn't pressing, kneading, or adjusting anything. They're listening to your body with their hands and giving your nervous system permission to let go.

The idea: when your body is wound tight from stress, injury, or just life, the connective tissue under your skin (called fascia) holds onto that tension. A skilled, very light touch in the right places can help your body release it — the way a deep breath releases a held shoulder. Most people describe a session as the calmest hour of their week.

What it's not: it's not deep-tissue massage (no pressure), not chiropractic (no cracking or manipulation), not energy healing or anything mystical. It's a recognized form of manual therapy used by occupational therapists, physical therapists, and osteopaths.

Cleveland Clinic describes craniosacral therapy as a gentle, noninvasive technique that may be used alongside other care to support pain relief, relaxation, and stress reduction. It focuses on the relationship between the body's structure, connective tissue, nervous system, and patterns of tension.

Denean's CST is informed by her occupational therapy training, pediatric experience, and advanced manual-therapy education with the Upledger Institute and internationally respected manual therapy educator Dr. Ed Stiles. Sessions are typically quiet, fully clothed, and deeply calming.

Pediatric Occupational Therapy

Kids & families

Twenty-plus years of pediatric OT, much of it in schools and educational settings. Denean helps children develop the physical, sensory, motor, and functional skills needed to participate more fully in daily life — and helps parents understand the practical challenges of supporting a growing nervous system.

Her pediatric background gives her a strong understanding of child development, sensory processing, movement patterns, regulation, and the relational dynamics families bring to therapy.

"Release Therapeutic Style" is Denean's own gentle, intentional approach to yoga. It's designed to help students slow down, release stored tension, improve body awareness, and reconnect with movement in a safe and restorative way. Her yoga complements her manual-therapy work by integrating breath, alignment, relaxation, and mindful movement.

Plan Your Year · Restorative Journey

A year-long arc

Not a stack of one-off sessions — a twelve-month journey woven from craniosacral therapy, occupational therapy where applicable, and Release-style yoga. The goal is durable, embodied change: a calmer nervous system, healthier movement patterns, and a stronger relationship with your own body across the seasons.

Distinct from Foundations' clinical Plan Your Year (preventive care with Dr. McLaurin) — this is Denean's parallel restorative arc, designed to layer on top.

Who it's forMembers ready to commit to whole-body work over a year, not just symptom relief.
